Madhavan Nambiar holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Loyola College, Madras University. He retired from the Indian Administrative Services in 2012 and during his 37 years of service, he worked as Special Secretary, Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology; Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance and Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India.
Madhavan Nambiar has a vast experience in both public and private sectors. He is an Independent Director with various companies like for Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Limited, The Catholic Syrian Bank Limited and is Chairman, Kerala Investment Promotion Board. He is also an Advisor to Tata Consultancy Services, advising TCS on policy issues especially relating to their Government initiatives
A Fellow at Cambridge University’s Judge Business School, Mr. Nambiar has taught public policy at Oxford, UK and Columbia University, USA.
Bala Deshpande joined NEA in 2008 as Senior Managing Director for New Enterprise Associates (India) Pvt. Ltd based in Mumbai. She is responsible for creating and building a platform for NEA India. NEA India's investments will primarily be in the mid-market growth space with deal sizes upwards of $ 10 million. This would include opportunities driven by emerging secular trends such as growing urbanization, emergence of new services plays and consolidation of fragmented industry structures. She is on the Board of InTravo Technologies Limited (earlier know as RT Outsourcing Services Limited), Financial Software & Systems Private Limited, Intellisys Technologies & Research Limited, Nova Medical Centers Private Limited, Vishwa Infrastructures & Services Private Limited, Air Works India Engineering Private Limited, Pantaloon Retail (I) Limited and Info Edge (I) Limited.
Prior to this, she was Senior Director of Investments at ICICI Venture where she had been since 2000. At ICICI Venture, she used her operational experience to identify opportunities for investment and to play a strategic role in shaping the future of investee companies. Her private equity experience has seen the full cycle from nurturing young companies to executing multiple exits including IPO’s, buy-backs, strategic sales, and capital market divestments.
Prior to ICICI Venture, Ms. Deshpande worked with leading multinational companies such as Bestfoods, Cadburys, and ICI. She was a part of the Strategic Planning Team at Bestfoods and was also nominated for the Women Leadership Forum held at Bestfoods, New York. Ms. Deshpande has a master’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from Jamnalal Bajaj, Mumbai.
Luv Chhabra, is an engineering graduate from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University. He joined Punj Lloyd in 2000 as a Director on the Board of Punj Lloyd, handling Corporate Affairs. He played a key role in furthering the Company's strategy. He retired from Punj Lloyd in May 2015.
Luv started his career with Bharat Petroleum, moving to join Bharat Shell in 1996 as Deputy Managing Director. In Bharat Shell, he played a key role in major projects, besides being responsible for the Finance and Accounts for the company and operations of the lubricants blending plant.
In 1997, Luv joined Petronet India Ltd as Managing Director where he was responsible for setting it up as a financial holding company for joint ventures that constructed and operated liquid hydrocarbon pipelines on the principle of common carrier.
Before joining Punj Lloyd, Luv was the Managing Director of KEC International Ltd, a global leader in turnkey design, engineering and construction of high voltage transmission system, where he supervised the company's projects in over 10 countries in the Middle East, South East Asia, Indian subcontinent and African region. Luv's vast experience stands the Company in good stead while closing financing arrangements and strategic ventures.
Michael P. Schulhof
CEO and General Partner, GTI Group
Michael P. Schulhof, CEO and General Partner, started GTI in 1996. Mr. Schulhof was previously President and CEO of Sony America and Sony Media and Entertainment from 1993 to 1995.
Mr. Schulhof joined Sony in 1968 and rose to senior management in 1979. In 1989, he was named to Sony's Board of Directors, becoming the first American on the Board of a major Japanese corporation. He is credited with transforming Sony's US operations into a global entertainment company. During his 25 years at Sony, Mr. Schulhof had responsibility for: (i) Sony Electronics; (ii) Sony Software Corporation including Columbia/Tristar Pictures, Inc., CBS Records, as well as the electronic publishing, and signatures divisions; and (iii) Sony Retail Entertainment including theatres and location-based entertainment centers across the United States.
Mr. Schulhof serves on the boards of several companies and charitable organizations including ColdWatt, J2Com, the Brookings Institution, the Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia Unversity, the American Hospital of Paris Foundation, and New York University Medical Center. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
A native of New York, Mr. Schulhof is a solid-state physicist with 27 published papers and one patent to his credit. He received a B.A. from Grinnell College, a M.A. from Cornell University, a Ph.D. from Brandeis University, and the Chevalier de la Legion D'Honneur by the French Republic.
Ravi is an Executive Director of Air Works. He operates out of the company's business and general aviation MRO hangar in Mumbai. Ravi manages the Business and General Aviation business and is focused on driving customer delight in the Indian region for Air Works.
Ravi has been associated with Air Works for over 35 years and managed the company's affairs through its developing stages. As a fellow of the Aeronautical Society of India, Ravi is actively involved in the Indian aviation industry. He is also an active member of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) civil aviation committee. Ravi is a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and holds a private pilots license.
Vivek is the Managing Director & CEO of Air Works. He operates out of the company’s corporate headquarters in Gurgaon, New Delhi. Vivek’s leadership provides Air Works the vision and implementation ability to become the preferred destination for Aviation MRO and Aircraft Paint and Refinishing Services.
Prior to joining Air Works Vivek served as the Chief Financial Officer of NYSE listed Genpact Limited, a world leader in business process and technology services. As Genpact’s Chief Financial Officer, Vivek played an integral role in transforming Genpact from a captive unit of GE into a highly profitable public company with over USD 1 billion of revenue. Vivek is also on the board of directors of Makemytrip.com, India’s leading online travel company listed on NASDAQ.
Vivek holds an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi, and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Sydenham College, University of Bombay.
