Todd Hattaway appointed as Vice President of Maintenance

New Delhi, May 11, 2009: Air Works – India’s premier MRO Company, today, announced that it has received the approval from Director General of Civil Aviation [DGCA] for maintenance of Boeing 737 NG Series (-600/ -700/ -800/ -900/ -900ER) aircraft fitted with CFM 56-7 Series Engines.  On the occasion, the company also announced the appointment of Todd Hattaway as Vice-President, Maintenance, Air Works.

Air Works’ present Boeing 737 NG capabilities include line maintenance, base maintenance up to and including “C” checks, and AOG (Aircraft on Ground) support. Air Works also holds DGCA Approval for ATR 42 / 72 Line and Base maintenance up to and including “C” Checks and recently performed a ‘C Check’ on a ATR 72 aircraft of Kingfisher Airlines at its facility in Hosur, near Bangalore.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Fredrik Groth – Chief Executive Officer, Air Works said, “We are proud to have received Boeing 737 NG approval from the Indian DGCA. We look forward to working with Indian and neighbouring Boeing 737 operators on their airframe maintenance requirements. Our services will be cost effective and will eliminate the need for costly overseas aircraft ferrying to ensure that local MRO support will be a mutual benefitting service for the Operators and Air Works. Our next objective is to become an EASA approved JAR 145 repair station. We have submitted our application and look forward to an upcoming organizational audit in the next 60 days”.

The Company on the occasion also announced the appointment of Todd Hattaway as the Vice President of Maintenance at Air Works. In his new role, Todd Hattaway will be leading the maintenance operations at Air Works. Todd Hattaway has been in the aviation industry for long and he has contributed to a number of projects related to Airline Maintenance in the US & Europe. He brings along his extensive experience of 17 years in various technical, contracts, and operations capacities at Delta Airlines (stationed in the US, Europe and Latin America), followed by three years as Director and later VP Maintenance / Quality at Flight Options, accountable for the operation of a fleet of 140 plus business aviation aircraft and 650 maintenance personnel at 7 locations in the USA.

Air Works Commercial MRO in Hosur presently has one hangar capable of housing two ATR 72 Size aircraft or one narrow body aircraft, and with 13000 Sq. feet of office and back shop space. The company will build one wide body hangar to be ready by early 2010. Air Works plans to invest up to USD $40 Million for setting up the additional hangars, the paint operation, and future engine / component MRO activities.
